NUMBERS OF BIRD RINGED IN LITHUANIA

A systematic bird ringing in Lithuania was started in 1929. Near 4.6 million birds were ringed during 93 years (1929-2021). About 14% of them were nestlings or unable to fly chicks (pullus).

Top 10 species of individuals ringed birds are as follows (in a systematic order): Black-headed Gull, Barn Swallow, European Robin, Goldcrest, Long-tailed Tit, Coal Tit, Eurasian Blue Tit, Great Tit, Common Starling, Eurasian Siskin.
