Scientific Research Environmental research work has been conducted in the museum since its establishment and is one of the priority areas. Museum’s research data have been published in eighty-one scientific publications (articles and books). The museum cooperates with various scientific, educational, and environmental institutions. Laboratory of Biological Analysis The main aims of the Laboratory of Biological Analysis are to gather morphological and other data and to make a detailed biological analysis of all received vertebrate animals. All information about living organisms is encoded in cells; therefore, the collection of wild animal tissues for genetic research was initiated about ten years ago. At present, the tissue collection comprises about 1,300 specimens of mammal and bird tissue. |
